Today we looked at what happens between fertilisation and birth.

We learned that the speed of sound in air is 330 metres per second which is a million times slower than light. Sound travels faster in solids because the particles are closer and the vibrations are spread more easily. In a vacuum (like space) there is no sound because there are no particles to vibrate.
