One of the greatest physicists of the twentieth century. Born in Denmark in 1885, he first became famous  for his work on the structure of the atom. He escaped German occupied Denmark during world war II to go to America, where he was work at Los Alamos, producing the atomic bomb. He became very concerned about the nuclear arms race and believed that nuclear secrets should be shared by the international scientific community; a view that was not shared by all .
