what we have learned about magnets:


They have a north and south pole;opposite poles atract, the same poles repel;there is an invisible 3D field around a bar magnet; the Earth has a bar magnet with the S pole at the top and the N pole at the bottom (upside down to what was previously thought);Field lines always go from N to S; iron, steel, cobalt and nickel are magneticother metals are not.

We learnt that when substances change state there is no change in temperature. When substances freeze they release heat to make bonds. When they melt they need extra heat to break bonds.
